Why take a Work Experience placement?
Taking a Work Experience placement enables you to put all the English skills you have learnt during your course to good use in a professional environment. You learn new vocabulary, work alongside native speakers and get to know more about British working culture too. Having work experience demonstrates strong language skills and ambition. It can also introduce you to some fantastic opportunities.
We offer work experience in junior postions in marketing, advertising, event management, business administration, publishing, public relations and other areas on request.
Who can take a Work Experience placement?
All students who have entered the UK on a Student Visa or who are EU citizens may take unpaid work experience. If you are an EU student you may take a placement after your language course. For non-EU students your placement must be a minimum of 4 weeks and not longer than your English course. You must be over 18 years old, have intermediate level English or IELTS level 5 before you start the placement, and for most positions, have a college course or previous work experience in the industry in which you wish to be placed.
How we support and help you
At each school one of our client services staff is available for consultation and advice. You receive help in producing a CV and in your interview technique. Our Work Experience department arranges interviews for you from our wide range of companies. Then, while you are at the company we stay in touch and are available if you need any more help. Our department is accredited by the University of Cambridge International Examinations and is a member of WYSE World Youth Student and Educational Travel.
