1. Enrolment
- Full fees or the deposit of £300 must be paid to us before we can reserve a place or book accommodation.
- All fees must be paid to us 30 days before the course starts.
- If full payment has not been received by the course start date, the student will not be admitted to class and will have to leave any accommodation booked through us.
2. Services
In the event of circumstances beyond our control, we may change the services offered, including details of locations, courses, facilities and dates of programmes. Where the number of students at any level is insufficient to form a viable group, we may provide group lessons at a different time of day or location, or one to one lessons. Alternatives provided will be of equivalent or greater financial value.
Lessons are held at our school buildings or at alternative premises nearby. There may be occasional closed groups of juniors at some of our schools.

- By “one week’s fees”, we mean tuition and accommodation charges for 1 week.
- If a visa application is rejected and we are given written evidence at least 8 days before the start of the course, we will refund the fees received in full. With fewer than 8 days’ notice, we charge 1 week’s accommodation fees.
- If a student cancels or curtails their course on or after the start date, a refund of part of the fees, after deduction of 1 week’s fees will be made the week after the last day of the original booking and will be returned to the issuer of the original payment.
- If a student decides to cut short a course or change from a more expensive course to a cheaper one, there are no refunds.
- A credit on tuition is considered in cases of serious illness or bereavement in the immediate family, providing we receive documentary evidence.
- We may charge a booking amendment fee of £30 if you change the course or accommodation you originally booked.
- If there are changes to accommodation arrangements during the course, or requests for a student holiday, students must give at least two full weeks’ notice, beginning at a weekend.
- On a long term (24+ weeks) course, students may choose to move to another Regent managed school after a minimum of 10 weeks at the first school. Students must give at least two full weeks’ notice, beginning at a weekend.
- Where we cancel or defer a course, all fees will be refunded. Refunds are paid in your home country. If you enrolled through a representative the refund will be paid to your representative.
4. Medical and Travel Insurance
Students must have appropriate Medical and Travel Insurance and must provide proof of adequate cover at the time of enrolment.
5. Public Holidays
There are no lessons on 1 Jan, 25 Dec, 26 Dec. Students are offered replacement lessons on other days in the same week.
6. Resolution of Disputes
If any student is unhappy with any aspect of the course, they should contact the Principal on site. If they are still not satisfied, they should write to Regent Language Training. We will investigate the complaint if:
- we receive it within 28 days after the end of the course
- it was given in writing to the Principal before the student left
- we have received all fees due
7. Liability
Our company, staff or representatives are not liable:
- for any loss, damage or injury to people or property or as a result of consequential losses, except where we have a liability under UK law
- when we cannot provide services or programmes for any reason in our schools
Regent Language Training is an intermediary between its students and travel organisations on the one hand, and homestays or other accommodation providers, and any extra-curricular or off-site services on the other. Under no circumstances can Regent Language Training be held responsible for any delay, accident or loss which may happen during the student’s stay with the homestay or other accommodation provider, or during any extra-curricular or off-site activity.
Regent Language Training will, however, endeavour to defend the student’s interests in the event of breach of contract on the part of the travel organisation, the homestay or other accommodation provider, or extra-curricular or off-site service.
8. Conduct of Students
- All students must follow the rules of each course, and follow our instructions.
- We may expel any student for behaviour which is unacceptable, including unsatisfactory attendance. In such cases we will not return fees and the student will have to pay any additional travel or other costs.
- Students whose attendance puts them in breach of visa regulations (80% attendance) will be reported to the UK Home Office.
- Students who cause damage will have to pay the full cost of replacement or repair.
- Students who are under the school minimum age limit will not be admitted and will be asked to return home at their own expense.
9. Statutory Rights
These terms and conditions will be interpreted as per UK law. Our terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights under UK law.

10. Further conditions specific to Young Learners (8-17 years)
● Students on junior residential courses will be sent home at their own expense if they drink alcohol or are found smoking inside any public building. Junior residential students are not allowed off site in the evenings, and are only allowed off site in small groups at other times at the Centre Manager’s discretion, providing a Permission Form signed by a parent/guardian has been received at Head Office.
● Regent reserves the right to issue disruptive students with a warning letter and, if there is no improvement in behaviour, to send them home at their parents’ expense.
● Regent further reserves the right to send home without a warning letter any student committing a serious offence, especially one involving the police and to include the following: theft, smoking in Regent buildings, the possession of, purchase of or consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs.
● Supervision : on all outings, students are escorted by our Activity Leaders. We do not allow any of our Young Learners, whether staying in residence or in Homestay, to go out in the evening, except when they join the group for organised, supervised activities, or in the event that the parental consent is received.
11. Photographs
Regent reserves the right to use photographs taken during courses to illustrate its promotional material. If a student wishes that his or her photo should not appear in this material, they should write to Regent within one week of the photo-shoot. These photos have no commercial or contractual value.
12. Bank Transfer
Banks charge for transfers. Please make sure you pay for all charges in advance. You must send a copy of the bank transfer order to Regent as a proof of payment. Please tell the bank to include the student’s name when they make the transfer. You must write the student’s name in the sender details.
