Pre-Foundation Programme

To be accepted on an undergraduate foundation course you need an intermediate level of English such as IELTS 5.0. The  Pre-Foundation Programme helps you achieve this and prepares you for the work and effort required on a foundation  programme. The course prepares you for thinking and analysing in English. Through group exercises and individual tasks you  learn to work in teams, and are challenged to meet deadlines and produce excellent spoken and written work. Students submit  assessed coursework every 4 weeks and are monitored by their personal tutor who reviews their progress and provides individual coaching.

Coursework deadlines

Assignments of up to 1000 words test the student’s ability to think, analyse, reason, or persuade in English.

Personal tutorials

Your personal tutor monitors your work and helps to motivate you, ensuring that you stay on track to achieve IELTS 5.0. You  meet every 4 weeks for an hour to receive feedback on your assignment and to plan and discuss the following assignment.  Each assignment is graded as Distinction, Merit, Pass or Fail.
