What are Cambridge certificates?

PET and FCE test all four language skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking.

The PET certificate is a basic exam which leads to higher qualifications such as the First Certificate in English (FCE). PET gives you the confidence to use English in real situations and corresponds to Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The FCE certificate is an exam for students who can use everyday written and spoken English at an upper-intermediate level. It is an ideal exam for students who want to use English for study purposes and corresponds to Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

What's included

Students following the PET or FCE Exam Preparation Programme at Regent mirror the Intensive Club Programme. There are 22.5 hours of tuition per week, plus one full-day excursion per week. From 9.30 - 11.00 each day students focus on reading and writing and from 11.30 - 13.00 the emphasis is on listening and speaking, all of which are assessed in PET and FCE exams. Students focus on exam skills from 13.45 - 15.15, before joining the daily late afternoon programme of supervised sports, leisure and evening activities from 15.45 - 17.15.
