Students at Regent Scanbrit in Bournemouth had the opportunity to learn about the Red Arrows, The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team and see an amazing display at the Bournemouth Air Show.
The Bournemouth Air Festival is an annual air show held along the coast at Bournemouth. The festival attracts large numbers of attendees who come to see the main event, the Red Arrows display. This excursion gave our students the chance to witness a stunning display, and to pick up some new vacabulary relating to planes and flying.
In the week leading up to the festival students used their Knowledge for a Global Community sessions to explore the idea of flying and aerodynamics, culminating in a challenge to design and make a paper plane that would fly as far as possible. This gave our students the chance to build their vocabulary and knowledge around flying and aviation - and have a lot of fun!
