Essential English language skills

  • Improve your accuracy and fluency in English

  • Suited to university students and professional students

  • Enhance your life skills by developing your confidence in English

  • Small study groups of maximum 5 per class

The programme includes sessions which give the learner the tools they need to operate confidently and successfully when using English as an international language.

The Skills Training sessions provide practice in writing, in listening comprehension and in reading comprehension. This includes the development of vocabulary and how to structure a piece of written work for either academic or professional purposes.

The Accuracy in Grammar session perfects core grammar skills and works on the eradication of common errors.  Students are given individual preparation time before the session in order to prepare the session content.

In the Language Focus builds reading, writing and vocabulary use in authentic contexts such as academic essays or written reports or emails for business purposes.

In the Spoken Performance session, the learner develops confidence and skills in a range of speaking situations.

English World

This intensive course comprises 20 hours  of study per week. This enables you to develop your all-round skills, as well as allowing special focus on specific areas of interest.  Outside of lesson times, students can make use of quiet areas to do preparation tasks or independent study.

You will be asked to complete an online placement test before your arrival so we can start to assess your level. We also need you to answer some questions about your needs and objectives so that we have a good understanding of what you hope to achieve by the end of the course.

The course is suited to students who need English for academic purposes (such as entry into higher education) and the course is also suited to students who need English for their professional development (such as to develop leadership or management skills in English).
