World Thinking Day began on 22nd February 1926 and has become internationally recognised. It has become a day to think about a wide range of political topics, and gave our schools the perfect opportunity to use their English language skills.
At Regent Cambridge we celebrated World Radio Day on 13th February. In the Knowledge for a Global Community class the topic was Media, and the students got busy writing and recording their very own radio shows. We helped them to focus particularly on pronunciation and clarity of speech.
50 years ago on 1st October 1964 David Mariano founded Regent, opening the first school in central London. It was in the Regent Street telephone code area, and so he called his school Regent London. Geoff Hardy-Gould, the current head of Regent, met up with David to celebrate his achievement. David ran Regent for 30 years - Geoff was a teacher and Academic Manager under David for several years before David's retirement.
